2nd February 2017 Post
This month I have really gotten to know my Brooks buddy better. Lily is very smart and a lot of fun to talk to. Lately when I have been visiting the class has been reading a book about a boy with some physical disabilities. While I enjoyed reading the book with her and the class it made it more difficult to get to know her because I did not have much time to talk to her. Fortunately, the last time I went they had finished the book and I had the whole time to talk to her. We talked about our dogs. She said her brother got to name her dogs and named them all after food which made her mad because she wanted them to have more human names. She said she was going to get another dog soon and I suggested she make a compromise with her brother so she could name the dog something she wanted. Also, I learned she has a big imagination because she told me about this game she plays with her friends where they have different names and such. I definitely, portrayed the IB characteristic of a good "listener." I am glad I still have a few more month to get to know Lily better.

1st February 2017 Post
This February has been crazy because school soccer has started. I have been spending every afternoon after school at soccer. I have learned so much already because this is the first time I have ever been a true leader of something. I am one of the four captains of the team which means my actions impact the team even more than normal. I have definitely portrayed and been growing my IB characteristic of a leader. As a senior leader too, we have come up with rules for the team about being late and expectations of how to treat each other and act on the team. It will be essential for us (the leaders) to makes sure these rules are implemented to make sure our team has organization and runs smoothly. Also, these rules will enable us to have more fun and be more successful. This past weekend we had the Northwest Jamboree which is a soccer "tournament" where we play shortened games to have some practice playing against other teams. It went really well for Grimsley as we won all our games with some of our "better" players missing. I am really looking forward to this season.
